KILBURNFLYER

Saxon at Shepherds Bush was very disappointing - have probably seen them at least 30 times in the last 30 years and this was a bit of a yawn - no let me correct that - it was the worst gig I have seen them play. Sound was crap - clear but nowhere near enough volume. Had a tiny PA that would not have looked out of place at the Underworld. What was really bad was the set list. Biff came up with some crap that they were playing a set list that some geezer had won in a competition - bollocks as it was a fucking shit set and most people left disappointed. A real shame as Saxon at the empire on St Georges day should have been a great gig - it could have if they turned it up and played a decent set. They have got to be so much better than this when the support motorhead later this year - at least I can be assured it will be loud enough. I appreciate they have got to mix it up a bit to retain interest but come on guys this was really poor.

KILBURNFLYER

Ace Frehley surprisingly good - was never much of a Kis fan but he was very entertaining. Am always amazed that Kiss has such a loyal and somewhat fanatical following and they were queueing round the block for this one.

Muse were again magnificent and belted out everything that you would expect. Great to see them in such a good venue - the Albert Hall is just the business.

KILBURNFLYER

Infectious Grooves were magnificent last night at the Mean Fiddler (one of my favourite venues) I hardly knew any of their material in any great depth but that didn't matter. Mike Muir is an electric performer and prowled the stage like pissed off tiger. A tight tight band who kept the whole thing at a very high temp. Getting 3 members of the audience to get on stage to provide backing vocals for Therapy could have been cheesy but it worked. I so hope he comes back with Suicidal - and soon.

Secured tickets for Motorhead 9with saxon supporting) at HAmmersmith and more interestingly at Sheffiled Carling Academy - never been there before but should be a laugh.

KILBURNFLYER

One down three to go.

Black Crowes were good value - almost 3 hours but dodgy song selection and Brixton Academy is such a shit venue at times. Sound was terrible - so quiet and muffled mix they sounded like they were playing next door. Had to get right down the front to hear in any clarity but was overall a decent gig but not a classic by any stretch.

KILBURNFLYER

The best thing about living in London is evidenced by this week - 4 gigs in 4 days at 4 venues.

Black Crowes at Brixton Academy - has been years since I saw them and they have never disappointed me so looking forward.

Infectious Grooves at Mean Fiddler - always a big fan of suicidal tendencies and this funked up version sound great on record - first time seeing them live so have to see.

Ace Frehley at the Astoria - never a big Kiss fan but he is a very good guitarist so high expectations.

Muse at the Albert Hall - does it get any better than that??????????

KILBURNFLYER

Oh joy of joys. Finally secured a ticket for Muse at the Albert Hall in a few weeks.

Entered a fan club competition - didn't win but access to a few seats in the choir - behind the band but no matter. Eve then could only get one. Cunts on e-bay are selling tickets for these charity gigs for massive profits. Free trade is all very well and am all in favour of it - have bought tickets off e-bay myself - but making profit out of a charity concert is more than a bit shabby.

So looking forward..............
